usewell Limited ("we", "us", or "our") operates the usewell website and platform at https://usewell.ai (the "Service").

Providing this information is always voluntary. You can use parts of usewell without sharing financial or spiritual data.

We may collect certain technical details when you use the Service, including:

  • Device type and operating system

  • Usage patterns and referring URLs

This helps us improve performance, troubleshoot, and keep the platform secure.

To deliver personalized guidance, we use AI technology powered by OpenAI. This helps us analyze the information you provide (such as income, savings, debt, giving, and investing behavior) and generate tailored insights aligned with biblical principles.

  • Only relevant financial and behavioral information you provide is processed
  • All inputs are sent securely and are not used by OpenAI to train its models
  • Personally identifiable details (e.g. your name or email) are never sent to OpenAI

The insights generated by AI are for educational and reflective purposes only. They are not financial, legal, or professional advice.

4. Safeguarding Spiritually Sensitive Financial Behavior

We understand your financial decisions may be deeply tied to your faith. Whether you’re tracking generosity, discerning God’s provision, or seeking to steward resources for the Kingdom, this information is more than data — it reflects your spiritual journey.

We treat spiritually sensitive financial behavior with the utmost respect. We will never misuse or exploit your information. Our role is to support your journey, not to prescribe beliefs.

5. Financial Information Handling

At present, all financial data is entered manually by you. usewell does not connect directly to your bank or financial accounts.

In the future, we may enable secure integrations with trusted third parties (such as financial APIs or aggregators like Plaid or Wych). If this happens:

  • You will be asked for clear permission before any connection is made
  • This Privacy Policy will be updated before new integrations go live

6. Security of Your Data

We take data security seriously and use multiple safeguards:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored securely
  • Email verification is required for account creation
  • A one-click "Delete My Data" option is available in the app
  • Access to data is strictly limited and controlled internally
  • Some information is processed by trusted service providers (e.g. Resend for email) under strict agreements that protect your data

While no system can be 100% secure, we are committed to maintaining high protection standards.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored for as long as your account is active.

  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using the I would like to delete my account link in the support section of the app, or by contacting us.
  • Once deleted, your data is removed from our active systems and cannot be recovered.
  • Deleted data may remain briefly in encrypted backups for system integrity, but will be permanently purged on the next backup cycle.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access and update your data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Download your data (data portability)
  • Withdraw your consent at any time

usewell is not designed for or directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
